Measured progress, levels and goals

1. Teachers and managers open Students & plans, choose a student and a course, then find Measured progress. It lists correct first answers, points on first answers, correct without help, typical time to answer, time against expected time, test points, time used in timed tests, skills shown without help and the measured level.
2. Measures use marked first answers from the last 28 days. Retries, answers waiting for a teacher and answers with a format to fix are left out. Each measure shows its evidence and the minimum it needs; with less evidence it says Not enough evidence yet.
3. The measured level uses the seven placement labels, from points on at least 10 marked first answers. It appears beside the teacher-assigned level and never changes the placement. Level changes list the date and the supporting measures recorded that day.
4. Measures are recorded every night for active learners in courses that allow existing work, including archived courses set to continue. Suspended learners pause automatic checks; authorised staff can use Measure now to record their values and check goals straight away. Earlier days are never rewritten, so corrections change later measurements only.
5. Under Add a measurable goal choose a measure, a target, an optional due date and a short sentence the student will see. The starting value is saved. A goal is reached only when its measure has enough evidence from answers up to its due date. After the deadline an unchecked active goal says Overdue — review needed on both the report and teaching page; the next measurement determines whether it was reached. Close goal accepts active or missed goals, needs a reason and keeps the saved values, due date and previous status in the audit history. Closed goals retain their saved values. If a measure definition changes, older closed values show their original rule version and are not presented as current measurements. Only teachers who can update the student can add, close or measure.
6. Extend due date gives a goal more time, for example after illness. Choose the new date and a short reason; the app records who changed it and shows the change under the goal. The starting value and existing work stay as they are. A goal marked not reached is reopened and checked again against the new date, so work done before the new date can count. Reopening counts towards the five active goals allowed per course, so close another goal first if the limit is reached.
7. Work after a due date always counts towards the student's ongoing progress. The due date only decides whether that goal was reached on time. Teachers and students see the same value for an overdue goal, measured up to its due date.
8. Students see active goals and goals reached in the last 30 days on My progress, with a simple bar. They see learning steps, never level names.
9. Students choose See my progress over time on My progress, choose an enrolled course that still allows existing work and dates, then inspect a trend and the recorded-value table. The default course follows their current placement. Both student progress pages show only active goals and goals reached in the last 30 days; closed, missed and older reached goals remain in staff history. Missing recordings mean more evidence is needed. The current plan and saved goal checks are shown separately from the selected historical measurements. Students see only their own webpage; CSV export is for authorised staff.
10. Help with measures and goals opens this guide from the teaching page; Help reading this report opens it from the student's trend. A dashed Goal line marks a current target for the chosen measure, even if the chart shows earlier dates. For example, today's 60% target can appear beside last month's recorded points; it is not a prediction or a past target.

Level thresholds are a first version for teacher review. Time measures count from opening a question to the first answer; gaps over 30 minutes count as breaks. Coins and badges are not enabled.
