Class 7 and Class 9 Science: practice, foundations and fresh checks

For: Student, Teacher, Centre Manager, Super Admin

1. The Super Admin imports and publishes the checked Science course through the application publication workflow. Centre Managers select the course offered by their centre. Existing courses and learner history are preserved.
2. Teachers open Students & plans, choose the Science course, enrol the learner and save a placement and learning plan. Enable AI and any voice permissions separately; publishing content does not enable spending.
3. Students open Learn & books, then their Class 7 or Class 9 Science course. Choose a chapter or Science foundations and press Start or continue on a short practice group. Finish and submit the work when ready.
4. Official Science Part I and Part II textbook entries open book reference pages. Use the separate Science practice collection for the selected class to start prepared activities.
5. In a question, use prepared clues, Build my foundation first, Why this matters and worked examples. Labelled Science diagrams use fixed course artwork and do not make paid image calls. Generated Illustrate pictures still use the image allowance and correctness checker.
6. Class 9 Science has a prepared Explain simply guide for every question. In guided practice, it separates what is given, what to find, the answer format, unfamiliar words and one first step. For example, an echo question distinguishes the round-trip time from the one-way wall distance. These guides and examples cost no AI tokens. Recognised older assignments can use the new guide while keeping their original question and progress. Independent checks still pause help.
7. Questions and answers are prepared in English. Class 9 also has Kannada and Tamil terminology. Class 7 currently has English meanings and reading guidance. Device voices depend on the installed device languages. Further AI translations are on demand; a full translated question bank is not claimed.
8. Class 7 uses the official Karnataka Curiosity Parts I and II listed for 2026–27. Teachers can choose foundation, standard or challenge groups in Work plans. For example, start a learner with four foundation tasks from Electricity, then assign a fresh independent check. Chapter 1 is non-evaluative practice. Difficulty is an authored estimate; adjust it to the learner.
9. Teachers use Skills & diagnosis to assign practice, fresh independent checks and due retention checks. Reserved delayed questions are excluded from ordinary student practice. A choice answer, a helped answer or an early check does not establish retained understanding.
10. Open Question bank, select Science, then Science chapter, skill and textbook exercise coverage. The map shows prepared question types, prerequisites, exercise references and counts. These are original aligned questions, not copies of every textbook exercise subpart.
11. Super Admins use the question-bank JSON export for independent review. It includes answers, clues, criteria, examples, discovery sources, coverage, language support and the actual SVG diagrams, without student data.

Approved exact answers, formula checks and supported numerical-unit checks cost no AI tokens. Other written explanations use one capped GPT-5.4 mini Science rubric call with low reasoning and the existing text allowance. Feedback can show partial points; uncertain answers or conflicting references go to the teacher.

Science marking checks scientific meaning. It accepts correct alternative wording and does not penalise minor English spelling or grammar. Chemical symbol case, units and substantive scientific contradictions still matter.

Why this matters gives everyday relevance. Discovery stories have separate sources. Their small puzzles have known answers and are not described as unsolved research problems.

Source checks, data validation and AI checking reduce errors but do not guarantee perfect content. Teachers can correct grades and report the question ID and proposed correction for a new content revision.
