Complete the simple sign-in check

For: Student, Teacher, Centre Manager, Super Admin, Attendance & payroll staff

1. After three failed password, authenticator or teacher-code attempts within 15 minutes, type the four displayed digits before trying again. Press the audio play control to listen, or New digits for another check. No maths or image puzzles are required.
2. Digits expire after five minutes and can be submitted once. A wrong answer needs a new check. Existing sign-in rate limits still apply; completing CAPTCHA does not bypass a temporary rate limit.
3. Failures are counted by account where known and by connection. People sharing a connection may see the check too; clearing browser cookies does not remove failures. Password recovery counts every request equally to avoid revealing account existence.
4. Only a Super Admin can change the global threshold from 1 to 20 or select Always show CAPTCHA in Sign-in settings. Save with your current password and a fresh authenticator code. These settings apply across centres.
