Help a student sign in with a short code

An assigned teacher can help without sharing an account or password.

For: Student, Teacher, Centre Manager, Super Admin

Look for: Help student sign in

  1. Teachers, Centre Managers and Super Admins can open Help student sign in in the top bar after authenticating their own account. Teachers see active students assigned to them; managers see active students in their current centre. Permission to view other students alone does not permit issuing their sign-in codes.
  2. Type a name, username or account code to filter the list, or browse the pages. Select a student and check their username and centre before issuing access. Show all clears the search. Students & plans and Student registrations also show Help student sign in at the top, and Help sign in beside each student you can help. You can also open Students & plans → learner → Help student sign in.
  3. Issue a five-minute access code. Read the eight characters in two groups, such as CCF9-4F52.
  4. Student: on the sign-in page choose My teacher gave me an access code, enter that code and open the workspace. The code is single-use; expired or already-used codes need replacing.
  5. Teachers can revoke a code. Several assigned teachers can issue their own codes, so an absent main teacher does not block study.
  6. For account-security changes, the student must sign in using their own password and authenticator instead.

This guide explains the feature; reading it does not change any setting or grant access. Back to all help
