Assign to several students and use ready-made plans

1. Teachers and centre administrators open Assign work for a one-off assignment or Use a ready-made plan for a schedule. Each recipient needs an active enrolment, placement and learning plan in every selected course, and the teacher must be allowed to update them.
2. Search and tick students, use Select all matching, or choose a saved group. Student groups lets each teacher save and edit their own selections. Updating a group does not change existing assignments.
3. For a ready-made plan, choose Start Small, Build Confidence, Keep Up With Class or Exam Preparation. These are reusable selection patterns using published content, not an official term syllabus. Choose subjects, optional chapters/modules, dates and teaching days. Selected subjects alternate, one assignment per day.
4. The ICSE starter appears only when the centre has an active ICSE Class 6 maths course. For that course, choose ICSE Class 6 · weekly starter, or Set up four ICSE starter weeks on a student’s course page. The course and topics are preselected. Use each learner’s saved staff level (1–7), or choose one sequence for the selected students. This does not change placements, learning plans, hint limits or AI permissions. Each recipient needs an active ICSE placement and saved learning plan.
5. The ICSE preset contains four learning weeks of three sessions, with 2–10 questions per session depending on level and week. Two guided practices lead to a fresh independent check; foundation-only weeks use a guided recap. All sessions are untimed, with suggested lengths of 10–30 minutes. Teaching dates and holidays determine the end date; twelve dates must fit within 90 days and any selected term. Review the seven-level topic table and preview before confirming. These are starting sequences, not a complete syllabus or automatic promotion.
6. Publish the reviewed 873-question ICSE bank before using all sequences. It has two independent questions per syllabus structure, allowing a fresh check after one wrong answer. Mastery still needs four structures; a second variant of the same structure does not count as another structure. The reserve is finite, and delayed questions remain separate. A missing skill or shortage of unassigned questions blocks that recipient’s entire preview. It never fills gaps with delayed assessments or repeats assigned questions. Staff level labels stay in staff screens; students see neutral topic and week titles.
7. Centre administrators can save Term 1 to Term 4 with start/end dates, academic year and holidays under Term dates & holidays. Teachers can choose these terms or custom dates and extra holidays. New previews skip term holidays, centre holidays saved in the attendance register and extra dates entered in the form. For example, a Monday centre closure moves the next session to the next selected teaching day. Later holiday edits do not move a saved preview or published plan; make a new preview or review and reschedule remaining work.
8. Expand the advanced options to set 1–30 questions per assignment and choose the same work or adjusted support. Adjusted work uses shorter foundation sessions for learners at staff levels 1–2. Other learners use the chosen pattern. Estimated minutes are planning estimates.
9. Preview shows every recipient, questions, experience, opening/due dates and existing unfinished work. It spreads questions across selected chapters/skills, uses fresh assessment questions and skips holidays. A content or placement shortage is explained; that recipient receives no partial schedule. Broaden selections or shorten the plan and make a fresh preview.
10. Tick the ready recipients and confirm. Publishing runs in the background. My work plans shows its status; a delayed queued batch can be retried without duplicates. A changed placement or unavailable question cancels the whole batch transaction and reports a failure. Fix the issue and preview again.
11. Work opens at 08:00 and is due at 20:00 in the centre's attendance time zone. One-off Assign work can instead use an optional opening date. Students can see upcoming cards, but cannot start before release. At most 100 students, 2,000 assignments and 20,000 questions can be published in one batch.
12. Open a plan to compare cumulative original due work, revised due work and submitted/completed work. Choose a student to inspect independent skill evidence. Completion is not mastery; future work is not overdue, archived unstarted work is excluded from revised totals and teacher corrections update skill evidence.
13. Pause stops unstarted work opening, while started work remains available. Resume reopens eligible work. Cancel unstarted work archives only untouched assignments. Move remaining dates shifts unstarted work by up to 90 calendar days for all students or one student; check revised dates because shifts can cross holidays or term boundaries. Started work and original schedule history remain saved.
14. Edit work changes an unstarted course/question selection or removes untouched questions from ordinary practice. A started single-submission test keeps all questions. Quizzes in independent mode and mock tests created through this flow use draft answers, no clues or AI tutoring, one final submission and a score after marking. Device read-aloud remains available.
