Choose simple or controlled attendance per centre
Managers configure capture, schedules and end times; Super Admins control role delegation.
For: Centre Manager, Super Admin, Attendance & payroll staff, Teacher
Look for: Attendance settings
- A Centre Manager or Super Admin opens Attendance settings in the intended centre. Choose Simple arrival, Scheduled finish or Check in / check out to fill a starting preset, then review and save.
- Student capture can use a redeemed teacher code, any successful authenticated login, or manual register marking. The default is teacher-code arrival, with the friendly confirmation enabled.
- Under Staff hours and approvals, Require another reviewer starts on. A Centre Manager or Super Admin can turn it off so ready staff register entries they record are confirmed in the same action, including their own attendance. Teacher self-recording still waits for approval. Unknown hours stay pending; changing the setting does not automatically approve existing days.
- Configure student and staff finish rules separately. Flexible means checkout is optional and unrecorded time stays unknown. Scheduled means the planned finish is labelled as an estimate. Controlled means checkout is required to establish duration.
- Explicit sign-out can optionally record checkout for students, staff or both. It is off by default. Staff automatic login check-in is also optional and off by default. Automatic timeout never records a departure.
- Enter the centre time zone and optional weekly working days with same-day start/end times for students and staff. Scheduled finish requires a complete schedule. Previously recorded days retain their original schedule and policy.
- Set a late-arrival grace period and optional centre-default student attendance goal of 0–7 days per week. Zero turns the goal off. Separate student review is optional. Teacher self-recording needs staff approval; Centre Manager entries follow the optional second-review setting.
- Under Staff hours and approvals, choose how staff without their own Staff hour defaults row record time, either arrival/departure times or a centre default number of hours per present day. Tick Require a written note when approving attendance if your centre wants a note on every approval; otherwise approvals need no note, while returning a day for correction always needs a reason.
- Under Approval reminders, choose Off, Daily or Weekly on Monday, and how many days a staff day may wait before it counts. Eligible approvers with a verified email receive at most one email a day with a count and a link. A Super Admin must configure Email settings first.
- A Super Admin can allow or block Centre Managers assigning ordinary attendance roles. Manager-attendance approval always needs explicit Super Admin permission. Existing role grants remain until removed or expired.
Phase 1 supports one weekly student schedule and one weekly staff schedule per centre. Centre holidays have their own page. Batches, individual schedules, leave workflows and automated lesson rescheduling are future extensions.
